What to expect when you visit Jesus Green Lido
Jesus Green Lido is a family-friendly venue and we welcome swimmers of all ages. The lido is particularly popular with children and young people during the warmer summer months.
Nestled in the northern edge of Jesus Green, close by the River Cam with its rows of houseboats moored along the bank, the lido is a haven for many. Surrounded by leafy trees, once you pass through its gates, your attention is immediately drawn to the cool, blue pool stretching out before you.
At 100 yards (91.5m) long, it is the UK’s longest pool. The water depth varies from 1.1m at either end to 2.8m in the middle. The lido’s unusual profile reflects that fact that when it was built in 1923, the pool was divided into a men’s and women’s section.
The lido has three lanes – fast, medium and slow. Occasionally, one lane may be closed for events, staff training or coaching/teaching sessions.
There are changing facilities (male and female) at either end of the pool, with showers, toilets and lockers.
There is a sauna that you may book.
The cafe is open during peak hours selling hot and cold drinks and snacks. <MENU>
There is a hoist for swimmers who may need support getting into and out of the water.
Some of the facilities are in progress of being upgraded. The lido, which celebrates its centenary in 2023, is starting to show its age!
