12hr Swim Relay: Dusk till Dawn

This summer solstice, Jesus Green Lido, one of the UK’s most iconic outdoor pools, is inviting teams of swimmers to join an overnight relay event organised by Level Water – a charity dedicated to giving children with disabilities the opportunity to learn to swim.

The 12-Hour Swim Relay will see the outdoor pool come alive through the night for a unique and inspiring challenge that’s open to teams of swimmers of all abilities. The event will take place from 7pm on Saturday, 21st June, through to 7am on Sunday, 22nd June, giving participants the chance to harness the energy of the longest day of the year for an unforgettable night of community spirit, endurance and fundraising under the stars.

Proceeds from the event will help Level Water provide access to specialist swimming lessons for children in Cambridge who would otherwise miss out on learning this vital life skill.

Ian Thwaites, CEO and founder of Level Water, said: “Whether you’re taking the plunge with teammates or daring to go solo, this event will be a celebration of swimming staying power, community and compassion. Normally, Level Water organises swim events in lakes and rivers. Holding this kind of event at a pool is a first for us – and we’re excited to collaborate with the team at GLL and the Friends of Jesus Green Lido. We’ve already had ten teams register for the event but expect 50 teams to sell out quickly. Every stroke swum will help us give children with disabilities the opportunity to learn a life-changing skill. It’s more than a relay – it’s a ripple effect of support, inclusion and joy.”
